Welcome to the initial application for an Associates' Committee grant!
PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW IN FULL. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS WILL RESULT IN YOUR DISQUALIFICATION.
Before you go any further: has a member of The Associates' Committee agreed to sponsor your application? Without a member's sponsorship, you may not apply.
For those that have sponsors, the centerpiece of the initial application is a 60-second video shot on a smart phone. It is to be shot in one continuous take and no editing is allowed. Upload the video on YouTube or Vimeo (not dropbox) and provide us with the link.
In the video, please be sure to tell us:
The name of your organization
Its overarching mission (what do you do?)
How much money are you requesting ($25,000, $50,000 or $75,000)
The specific project for which you seek funding (and it is imperative that you be specific - The Associates' Committee does not provide grants meant to simply supplement your general operating budget)
In addition to the link to your video, you are allowed three additional links. These links may not be to any content created specifically for this application. Rather, they are simply to provide additional information about your work and the need for the specific project for which you seek funding. This may include a report, an "about us" page or whatever else you think may be helpful, so long as it is pre-existing content.
Finally, you will be asked to submit a one-page budget form (download the attachment linked to this application -- see immediately below). Instructions can be found at the top of the form. NOTE: the budget form is intended for the specific project for which you seek funding (in other words - how will you spend the money you are requesting?). We are NOT asking for your organization's overall budget.
The application will close on 11:59 p.m. PT on July 31, 2019. At that point, the Board of Directors will review all initial applications and select 15-20 finalists. We will contact those finalists and request additional information (focused on organization's transparency and accountability). All members will vote to determine who among the finalists will receive grants.
